PROGRAMS
ALVÉS INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE PROGRAMS
-
Roots traditions - We organize, create and commission performances of new works of multi-disciplinary performative arts based on the world’s roots traditions.
-
Diversity and Inclusion - We create projects that highlight cultural diversity and promote intercultural dialogue. We aim to raise awareness and make an impact against the issue of racism and discrimination against immigrants and refugees and foster intercultural dialogue through music by exploring cross-cultural collaborations, multimedia projects such as music videos, short movies, documentaries and educational musical experiences that can help cultivate empathy towards refugees and immigrants.
-
Minority Groups - We work together with artists from minority groups and create transformational experiences for audiences through the arts and storytelling.
AVLÉS GREEK HERITAGE PROGRAMS
-
Promoting Greek cultural heritage worldwide through digital and physical mediums, which include live performances, video performances, documentaries, short films, digital art and more.
-
Workshops and education programs of Greek traditional music and dance for the Greek diaspora worldwide, for adults and children. Additionally we present at colleges such as Berklee College of Music, Berklee Valencia, Tufts University, Harvard University, Emerson College amongst others. We also provide interactive workshops for children in US elementary schools and Greek schools, introducing them to Greek traditional music and dance.
-
Scholarships programs - We want to provide scholarships to exceptionally talented young musicians that get accepted into acclaimed higher education institutions in the US, to help them complete their studies and kickstart their careers. Additionally, we want to provide scholarships for one-on-one apprenticeships with masters of Greek traditional music to exceptionally talented students who face financial hardship in Greece.
APTÁLIA PROJECT
-
Aptália Project aims to preserve and highlight the rich heritage of the Greek refugees from Asia Minor, through the research, study and performance of their music and dance. The inspiration behind the project derives from the history of our co-founder Erini’s great grandparents, who were Greek refugees from Asia Minor (Anatolia - today’s Western Turkey) and whose cultural heritage was passed on to her.
